Simulation Knowledge Mining and Abstraction (SKMA) is another enabling theme within the Programme for Simulation Innovation (PSi).  The theme's aim was to ensure that the data generated from simulations is automatically annotated with meta-data so that its meaning is unambiguous allowing its value to be maximised.  By so doing the data can be re-used, thus avoiding additional computational effort to regenerate the data, data mined, and automatically archived and curated according to a rule set.

Working with Prof. John Clarkson and Dr. Nigel Ball at the Cambridge Engineering Design Centre we have identified a number of potential applications of data mining techniques within the Jaguar Land Rover vehicle engineering processes which may have profound value in the years to come.
